  • In the 1920s, Grand Ole Opry Star and Country Music Hall of Famer Ernest Tubb lived with his family in a small house where the Wichita Brazos Museum and Cultural Center now stands.
  • Benjamin is included in the book "Getting Away With Murder on the Texas Frontier: Notorious Killings and Celebrated Trials", written by former District Attorney Bill Neal.
  • C.H. Underwood, author of "Six-Man Football" and first coach to lead a team to a Texas Six-Man State Championship victory, coached and taught at Benjamin for several years.
  • Don Haskins, the legendary coach who was portrayed in the movie "Glory Road" began his coaching and teaching career at Benjamin ISD.
  • Benjamin is home to Wyman Meinzer, 1997 Texas State Photographer.
  • The area is also abundant in wildlife, including geese, duck, deer, dove, quail, turkey and wild hogs, and was one of the first in the state to post "Wild Hog Crossing" signs along roadways.
